Sea dog for a day

PescaTurismo is making it possible to have a real deep sea experience along with professional fishers

Another way to get to know Majorca is now possible. Beyond sun and beach tourism and summer massification, the Majorcan company PescaTurismo seeks to show the island from a very different perspective in a unique and very original sustainable way as it is committed to reactivating a long-forgotten sector - fishing.

The experience is one-of-a-kind: spending a day at sea on a real fishing boat next to the captain, a professional fisher, who will teach you the art of the trade and cook some of the fish captured during the day right on board. It's something to do alone, as a couple, with friends or with family.

The project, which is managed by the Majorcan start-up, came out of the idea of making tourism on the Balearic Islands year-round and improving the living conditions of the island's fishers.

With a clear educational component and a sustainable spirit, PescaTurismo is offering real immersion in the island's culture, gastronomy and marine traditions.

The initiative has been recognised with an award for sustainable and responsible tourism (Fitur) and an award for the best tourism experience on the Balearic Islands (Govern de les Illes Balears). There are many options if you're interested in trying the experience on Majorca.

Boats of nearly ten metres in length depart from different ports around the island: Sóller, Cala Bona, Alcúdia, Andratx, Colònia Sant Jordi and Can Picafort. Booking is easy. Just go to the website www.pescaturismomallorca.com choose what you like the best and dive into the adventure of being a sea dog for a day.
